I am an artist based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. I am totally self taught and have been full time since March 2009. I have not had any training in art at all except for advice from books about techniques etc. I particularly enjoy portraiture and still life. A lot of the subjects that I choose to paint come from images that I have seen, either in films, books, newspapers or in daily life. If I see an image that I really like then I will attempt to paint it, they never end up looking like the image that I have seen and I am learning to live with that. Someone once said to me that "if you want to replicate an image exactly then take a photo", I have to go along with that as my images never seem to be close to the real thing. I admire many artists and have my own collection of other artists work. I would love to be able to paint like Lucien Freud, his work is amazing. I know that I should put down more info here and I probably will do but not today.
