I did this yesterday, it's only 12"x10" and oil on canvas.  It's an attempt at impressionism, the painting is just lots of brush strokes and blobs of paint.  Consequently it's not a good idea to look up close at it (like in this photo).  I only used 2 colours and they were raw umber and white (the usual).  Was toying with the idea of doing some more to it but decided against it, will just leave it like this.

I have done some more work to the clock painting that I started a white back.  I have only been working on the face.  I didn't know whether to do the drips of plastic face as an image or actually use really thick paint.  I have decided on using really thick paint and attempted to hang it on the hands of the clock.  I think it's ok although not too sure as this is not usually how I do things.  The next bit I have going to do is the peeling paint all around the clock.  Around some of the edges of the black paint I have left a very thin strip of no paint at all and this has given the effect of it standing away from the canvas.  A happy accident!!  I like those.
