Started this new portrait today, at about 7'o'clock this morning to be precise. I think I was still in Brussels time to be honest. This portrait is going to stay macroed right in and I have already started to add lots of wrinkles. The eye is also going to be quite extreme in the way it will look, a creepy one all round really. Only two colours are being used again, raw umber and titanium white and, at the moment I am not sure whether I will be adding colour or not. I will see how it goes. As usual too, the painting is flat, none of the paint is put on thickly. The only bit I am struggling with is the top eyelid and this will need a bit more work to get it completely right.
